Where We Go, and How Long It Takes
We work out of Burnaby, right where Hastings Street meets the Vancouver boundary. Everything below is reachable, but the honest arrival time depends almost entirely on which bridge or highway sits between us and you.
| City | What makes it quick or slow | Typical arrival |
|---|---|---|
| Burnaby | Home patch. Nothing between us and you | 25 to 40 min |
| Vancouver | East side is minutes. The west side and downtown add traffic | 30 to 55 min |
| New Westminster | Straight run down Canada Way or Kingsway, no crossing | 35 to 55 min |
| Coquitlam | Lougheed Highway or Highway 1, usually clear off peak | 40 to 65 min |
| North Vancouver | Second Narrows. Fast at night, slow at rush hour | 45 to 70 min |
| Richmond | Knight or Oak Street Bridge, then flat open roads | 45 to 70 min |
| Surrey | Port Mann or the stal̓əw̓asəm crossing, and the city is very large | 55 to 90 min |
These are real averages, not marketing numbers. Overnight is usually at the fast end of each range because the bridges are empty. Weekday afternoons between three and six are the worst of it everywhere.
Why these numbers vary so much
Most roadside companies advertise the whole Lower Mainland and leave you to find out how far away they actually are. The honest version is that the two busiest parts of our coverage, Burnaby and East Vancouver, need no bridge at all, which is why their windows are tight and reliable.
Everything else hangs on a crossing, and a crossing is the one part of a journey here you cannot plan around. The Second Narrows at midnight is four minutes. The same span at half past four on a Thursday can be twenty five. That single variable is responsible for nearly all the spread in the table above, which is why we quote a range instead of a number and then give you a firm time once we know your actual address.
Outside these cities
Port Moody, Port Coquitlam, Delta and Langley come up regularly and we take those calls, with the travel reflected in the quote. Past Langley, out toward Abbotsford or up the Sea to Sky, the drive stops making sense for anything urgent, and you are better served by someone local to you.
Washes work differently
Everything above is about emergency response. A booked wash or detail is scheduled, so distance matters much less. If you are in Port Moody and want a monthly wash, that is straightforward because we plan the route around it. It is only the urgent calls where geography decides the answer.
Not sure if you are in range?
Call and say where you are. We will give you a straight answer and a realistic time, or tell you who is closer.
