A small outfit on Hastings Street that answers the phone
Emergency Roadside Service & Mobile Car Wash runs out of Burnaby, a few blocks from where Hastings crosses into Vancouver. Two lines of work, one van, one number. When your car stops we come and get it going. When it is filthy we come and clean it.
Why two services that look unrelated
People ask about this. Roadside rescue and car washing seem like an odd pair until you look at how the days actually run.
Roadside work is unpredictable and it clusters at night. Nothing happens for six hours and then three calls arrive between eleven and two. Washing and detailing is the opposite: scheduled, daytime, booked a week out. One fills the gaps the other leaves, and the kit overlaps more than you would guess, since a tank of water and a generator earn their place on a muddy recovery as readily as on a driveway wash.
The other reason is less about logistics. Almost every regular wash customer we have met us on a bad night. A boost in a parkade in February, a tire on Boundary Road, keys locked in at a gas station on Hastings. They kept the number, and months later the same van turns up on a Saturday morning to clean the car. That is most of how this business has grown.
How we work
You get a price before anything moves
The full number, including travel, quoted on the first call. Not a starting rate, not a figure that grows once the van arrives. If the job turns out to be different from what was described, you get told on site before anything begins, not on the invoice afterwards.
A person answers, not a queue
There is no dispatch centre in another province routing your call to whichever contractor bids lowest. You speak to the person who is coming, which means you can describe the car accurately and get a real answer about whether this is even fixable at the roadside.
We tell you when it is not our job
This one costs us money and we do it anyway. A car that cranks strongly but will not fire does not need a boost, it needs a mechanic. A sidewall split cannot be plugged by anybody. If your key is lost rather than shut in the car we can still open it so you can reach a spare or your documents, but we cannot cut you a new one, and you should be calling a locksmith at the same time. Hearing all that on the phone is cheaper than hearing it in your driveway.
Properly equipped for the small stuff
A torque wrench rather than a rattle gun and a guess. A regulated lithium boost pack rather than cables slung between two cars. A soft air wedge and a coated reach tool rather than a slim jim down the door skin. None of this is exotic, it is just the correct tool, and it is the difference between a repair and a repair plus a new window regulator.
Where we actually go
The base is in Burnaby, right on the Vancouver line, which turns out to be close to ideal. Hastings runs straight west into East Vancouver and straight east into the Heights. Highway 1 is minutes away in both directions. The Second Narrows takes us to the North Shore, and Boundary Road feeds south to Marine Way and the Fraser crossings.
In practice Burnaby and East Vancouver get the fastest response, inside forty minutes most of the time. Everywhere that needs a bridge runs longer, and how much longer depends on which bridge and what hour it is. The service areas page carries a window for every city we cover, and those are the numbers we work to.
Licensed, insured and local
Commercial insurance on the vehicle and the work. Based here, not operating from a call centre with a local phone number redirected somewhere else. If you need proof of coverage before we work in a strata parkade or at a commercial yard, ask and we will send it over.
Rated 5.0 on Google. Every review the business has received so far. If we have helped you, leaving one makes a genuine difference to a small operation like this.
Getting in touch
For anything urgent, phone. A form sitting in an inbox is no use at one in the morning, and the fastest route to a van is always a call. For wash and detail bookings, fleet quotes or anything that can wait until business hours, the contact page has a form that reaches us just as well.
Save the number before you need it
It costs nothing sitting in your phone, and it is a lot easier than searching for one at midnight in the rain.
